It will be mostly dry and bright with some sunny intervals, and perhaps the odd shower drifting over Orkney in the afternoon. Fresh to strong southeast winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Dry at first for Shetland. Clear spells and showers over Orkney at first, these spreading north to Shetland later. Then dry with clear spells overnight. Fresh southerly winds. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Tuesday 2 September :

Dry with sunny spells to start. Scattered showers spread into Orkney around midday, and to Shetland in the afternoon. Southerly winds easing. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

A dry start Wednesday before rain spreads north, heavy at times, clearing Thursday morning. Then sunny spells and scattered showers Thursday afternoon and Friday.
