It’s the time of year when fungi start popping up out of no-where. 

I’m fascinated by them – not a plant, not an animal – they have their very own niche in the life of our world.

A couple of Wax-caps have turned up in our gravel

A friend named them ‘Jelly-bean Plants’ which prompted me to remind folk of the wise words of Terry Pratchett….

All Fungi are edible. Some fungi are only edible once.’
