Some bright or sunny spells, but generally a rather cloudy day with scattered, occasionally heavy, blustery showers. Feeling cold in the slowly easing strong to gale force northwesterly breeze. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Tonight:
A few clear spells with further showers this evening and overnight, the showers becoming more frequent across Shetland towards dawn. Strong northwesterly winds. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Monday 22 September :
Sunny spells and showers across Orkney. Cloudier across Shetland with showers perhaps merging to give a longer spell of rain. Strong northwesterly winds, easing later across Shetland. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Rather cloudy Tuesday with patchy rain or showers with winds easing. Wednesday and Thursday look largely dry with sunny spells as winds turn more southerly.
