Early patchy rain and gales clearing then becoming drier and brighter for a time with winds easing. Further heavy rain and strengthening winds towards evening Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Persistent heavy rain clearing for a time but further blustery showers tonight. Severe south or southeasterly gales, storm force for a time. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Saturday 4 October :

Very windy with gale or severe gale force winds, stormy over Orkney, with rain or blustery showers. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Winds easing on Sunday with sunshine and a few showers. Monday and Tuesday cloudier with outbreaks of rain and fresh to strong southwesterly winds.
