Very windy with gale or severe gale force west to northwesterly winds. occasionally touching storm force over Orkney, with rain or blustery showers. Feeling colder than of late too. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Tonight:
Severe gale to storm force winds this evening and at first tonight easing to gale by morning. Showery too, with some heavier ones over Shetland at first. Minimum temperature 9 °C.
Sunday 5 October :
Cloud and showers clearing Shetland then some sunshine for a time. Cloud and patchy rain spreading from west later. WInds continuing to ease. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Monday and Tuesday cloudier with outbreaks of rain and fresh to strong southwesterly winds. Brighter on Wednesday with some sunshine and the odd shower, lighter winds.
