UHI Orkney held its graduation day on Friday 21 November in St Magnus Cathedral Kirkwall.
It was a day for students, parents, carers, family, and staff to celebrate the hard work of study. UHI Orkney has always been an inclusive institution and that was very much on show in the cathedral as both young adults and not so young adults were represented.

Guests were entertained both before the proceedings got under way and during it by the Applied Music Department.
The Piper played ‘Freedom come all ye’ as he led the procession of academics and the presentation of the UHI mace before the ceremony of awards got underway.

The range of awards reflects the amazing variety of courses and degrees offered by UHI Orkney, at many different levels of learning. They also represent the heritage and culture of the islands: farming, carpentry, social care, education, tourism, archaeology, literature, history and so much more.
It is always a pleasure to attend the UHI Orkney Graduation ceremony as students progress through their own learning journeys and we extend our congratulations to every one of them.
