The Orkney News would like to thank all those who visited the Portraits for Peace exhibition and those who made it all possible.
The exhibition at the Northlight Gallery was a fantastic experience where Orcadian artist Martin Laird painted in real time three exceptional local Peace campaigners.
Thanks to:
- Martin Laird
- Cary Welling
- Professor Charlie Peevers

The exhibition received support from the University of Glasgow and the Arts and Humanities Research Council. It was part of Fair Saturday Scotland events.
Two of the portraits can be viewed in the windows of the Northlight Gallery, Stromness. One is complete. Martin Laird will continue working on the other two. It is hoped that the paintings will be shown in a future exhibition in Scotland showcasing the work of other artists.
