Some bright or sunny spells through the day. There will be a few showers this morning before it becomes generally dry this afternoon. Chance of a little rain across Orkney later. Fresh to strong south or southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

This evening will be cloudy with rain, briefly heavy, spreading from the southwest. Drier weather spreading to Orkney by midnight, and Shetland later in the night. Winds easing. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Friday 19 December :

A few bright spells otherwise rather cloudy at times with showers, occasionally prolonged and heavy. Windy with strong to gale west or southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Cloudy on Saturday with a little patchy rain. Remaining rather cloudy on Sunday and Monday with some showery rain at times.
