A dry day with mostly light winds. Areas of cloud are likely to linger over Shetland, while Orkney will see the best of the sunny periods. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

It will be a widely settled night with light winds. Shetland will be rather cloudy throughout. Some clear spells likely at first for Orkney before turning cloudier later. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Thursday 25 December :

Another settled day with light winds. Remaining rather cloudy for Shetland while Orkney will have more in the way of sunnier spells. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

High pressure will continue to bring settled and largely dry conditions with variable amounts of cloud. Light winds at first but breezier on Saturday.
