Another cold and cloudy day with a few showers, wintry on the hills. Strong to gale force southeast winds will ease a little through the day. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

It will stay cloudy through the evening with persistent light rain or drizzle, this becoming lighter and more patchy towards morning. Strong southeast winds will continue. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Saturday 24 January :

Another cloudy day for Orkney with light rain and drizzle. Cloudy with some light rain at first for Shetland, becoming drier through the morning, then a few showers later. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Mostly cloudy and cold through this period with a few showers, wintry at times. Winds will often be strong from the east or southeast.
