Little change from previous days with a continuation of the cloudy conditions and outbreaks of rain over Orkney, and rain or sleet for Shetland with some wet snow on higher ground. Fresh to strong southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining cloudy with further rain at times, with some sleet or wet snow at first over higher ground in Shetland. Fresh to strong southeasterly winds. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Saturday 31 January :

Southeasterly winds persisting over the Northern Isles which will continue to bring cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain or drizzle. occasionally sleety over Shetland. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Similar on Sunday and early Monday with outbreaks of rain. Becoming drier but colder from later Monday and Tuesday, perhaps a few light snow showers. Strong southeasterly winds.
