A cloudy morning with a few showers. Becoming drier by the afternoon with long sunny spells developing. A little breezy in the morning but winds soon becoming light. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Tonight:
A dry evening with late sunny then clear spells. Turning cloudier from the south overnight with heavy rain reaching Orkney by dawn. Wind becoming strong southeasterlies with risk of gales Minimum temperature 4 °C.
Saturday 11 April :
Cloudy with heavy rain spreading northeast. Orkney turns dry through the afternoon, but rain continues in Shetland. Strong winds for Orkney but gales or possibly severe gales for Shetland. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Bright or sunny spells with showers on Sunday and Monday. Mostly dry with sunny spells on Tuesday. Strong winds and risk of gales Sunday, then winds becoming light.
