Mainly dry and cloudy across Shetland with just the odd shower. A few bright spells and showers across Orkney, showers may become heavy later this afternoon. Strong southeasterly winds easing by the afternoon. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Rather cloudy this evening with showers, possibly heavy at first across Orkney. Then becoming drier in the early hours with a few cloud breaks. Light winds. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Thursday 21 May :

Dry in the morning. Thickening cloud and some outbreaks of light rain will spread north in the afternoon, turning drier later. Further rain spreading north towards Orkney by midnight. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Overnight rain clearing away in the morning then dry with some hazy sunshine, haar at first across Shetland, a few showers possible in the evening. Mainly dry over the weekend.
