Cloudy with patchy rain clearing during the morning for Orkney, through the afternoon for Shetland. Otherwise a bright day with sunny spells and a few showers. Strong winds, occasional gales for Shetland around early afternoon. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Mostly dry to start with sunny spells and just the odd shower. Turning somewhat cloudier overnight with a few showers but still some dry, clear spells. Strong winds will ease. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Friday 3 July :

Bright or sunny spells and variable cloud throughout the day. Mostly dry but the odd light shower possible. Winds freshen in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

A changeable westerly pattern brings variable cloud and scattered showers during this period, with some sunshine at times but often windy.
