A few showers at first across Shetland, otherwise a dry and bright morning. Cloud will thicken through the afternoon, with outbreaks of rain spreading northwards into Orkney later in the afternoon. A few showers still for Shetland. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud will continue to thicken with outbreaks of rain spreading north through the evening. Rain will become more persistent overnight and turn heavy at times. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Tuesday 4 August :

It will be cloudy throughout the day with outbreaks of rain, becoming quite persistent in places and turning heavy at times. Freshening east to northeast winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Cloudy on Wednesday with outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain, perhaps turning drier later. Drier and brighter on Thursday and Friday with the risk of a few showers.
