Mainly dry during daytime with some sunny spells for Shetland but the odd light shower not to be ruled out. Best of the brighter spells for Orkney will be in the afternoon. Winds will be light Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

A dry and bright evening with light winds. Cloud will thicken across Orkney later, with rain arriving around midnight accompanied by freshening winds. Shetland will remain dry throughout. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Tuesday 18 August :

Cloudy and rather wet for Orkney, the rain heavy at times. Mainly dry and bright for Shetland, just the chance of a little light rain in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Northerly winds prevailing during this period bring rather cool conditions with variable cloud amounts and a few scattered showers.
