Cloudy and rather wet for Orkney, the rain heavy at times through the day. Generally drier and brighter for Shetland, but still with a little light rain at times. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Rain continuing through the evening for Orkney but eventually turning lighter overnight. Shetland will be mostly cloudy with a few light showers through the night. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Wednesday 19 August :

A cool day with northerly winds, some bright weather but scattered showers developing for Shetland in the morning and Orkney later. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Cooler conditions in northerly winds with scattered showers at times, a lot of brighter weather too particularly towards the weekend.
