Today 5 September :

Bright with sunny spells and some showers, becoming lighter and more isolated through the day. Strong westerly winds at first will steadily ease through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry evening with bright then clear spells and only the odd light shower. Outbreaks of rain will spread north to Orkney overnight, just reaching Shetland by morning. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Sunday 6 September :

Occasionally heavy rain spreads north through the day, turning more showery later. Strong southerly winds developing, chance of coastal gales later. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Sunny spells at first Monday, then becoming windy with gales and occasionally heavy rain or showers, this persisting through Tuesday, then becoming drier and brighter through Wednesday as winds ease.
