A few light well scattered showers appearing, but otherwise a mostly dry day, with occasional brighter spells. West to southwest winds fresh, occasionally strong across Shetland during the morning. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud thickening from the west during the evening, with and area of rain spreading to all overnight, as winds back southerly and increase strong to near gale. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Saturday 12 September :

Wet, windy through the morning with outbreaks heavy at times. Winds easing fresh to strong while veering west to northwest early afternoon, bringing largely dry, occasionally sunny fare. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Sunday mainly dry with light winds and occasional sunny spells. Monday wet and windy. Tuesday showery.
