A bright day with a mix of sunny spells and occasionally heavy showers, however the showers are expected to become less frequent later in the afternoon. Occasionally fresh southwesterly winds turning northwesterly. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Tonight:
Scattered showers this evening and overnight with some long clear spells developing. Feeling rather chilly with occasionally fresh northwesterly winds easing. Minimum temperature 4 °C.
Thursday 8 October :
A few early showers, otherwise dry with some good spells of sunshine. Cloud increasing later with rain reaching Orkney by evening and Shetland by midnight. Freshening southerly through the evening. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Overnight heavy rain soon clearing then sunny spells and blustery showers Friday, the showers becoming heavier, more frequent Saturday, with northwesterly gales for Orkney. Mainly dry and bright Sunday.
