Cloudy start with outbreaks of rain but becoming drier for a time later in the evening. Overnight remaining cloudy with some light rain possible. Fresh to strong winds easing. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Thursday 22 October :

Cloudy in the morning with light rain in Orkney, but heavy persistent rain in Shetland. Rain clears to the north leaving bright spells and showers for all. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Mostly cloudy with showers Friday, then heavier rain spreads north later. Dry early Saturday before heavy rain returns. Sunday remains cloudy with rain or showers. Becoming windy, with gales developing.
