The sun shone and the crowds came out in Kirkwall to celebrate with Norway their independence – Norwegian Constitution Day, May 17.

In the morning The Orkney Norway Friendship Society and dignitaries laid wreaths at St Olaf Cemetery to remember those Norwegians who had given their lives for their nation’s freedom.
