Pickaquoy cafe

The cafe at the Pickaquoy Centre Kirkwall is situated upstairs but there is a lift available. It is very user friendly for anyone with mobility problems. Its layout means there is room to move about if in a wheelchair. It is also family friendly. There is a licensed bar area to one side.

There is a variety of seating options. Tables are numbered with menus on them. You select what you want and order at the counter. There are ‘today’ specials and a selection of freshly baked cakes. Some foods can be ordered to take away.

Condiments are on the table, wooden cutlery, glasses, at a side trolley. Metal cutlery at the counter.

The service was polite and efficient. The food was tasty and the salad fresh. The cupcakes were light and scrummy. The cappuccino could have done with being hotter.

This was an excellent light lunch and very reasonably priced.
