Easter Weekend in Orkney

If you are looking for places to go in Orkney over the Easter weekend, or at any time, check out the pages of The Orkney News. You can use our search facility to find places to visit or for walks. We have a link to the Met Office on our front page – you can check out the weather before you go. It looks like it’ll be pretty good.

Although Orkney is starting to get busy again you can still catch a place less frequented if that’s what you would prefer.

Thursday April 18th was World Heritage Day and the usual sites in Orkney were quite busy. Lochside Viewpoint wasn’t- and from there you can take in the Heart of Neolithic Orkney from a different perspective. With the weather having been dry and the vegetation not yet rampant – it was easy going to walk down to the loch.

You can read about  Lochside Viewpoint here: Lochside Viewpoint – Exactly What It Says It Is!

Or you can visit one of Orkney’s many beaches – they are all different. And of course, wildflowers and wildlife is abundant at this time of year.
