Stronsay’s Pop Up Heritage Centre will be opening on Monday 1st of July. Situated in the Village of Whitehall, the centre showcases Stronsay’s maritime history, specifically related to the herring industry.
On display will be a wonderful selection of pictures of Stronsay as it was with 4,000+ people living on island.
The Heritage Centre also includes a range of artefacts including record books.
Entrance is free but donations would help towards the preservation and future display of the materials. Opening times are 9am – 6pm Monday to Sunday
The pop up centre offers the community and visitors the opportunity to influence the permanent Stronsay Heritage Centre by providing a chance to comment and give feedback on existing displays, add ideas and offer suggestions on future displays.
