A very personal display was entitled ‘Recovery’
Life can be quite a journey sometimes, with surprises round unexpected corners, as I have found over the last months. However, I have also found so much help, healing and humour to keep me travelling on. I am so grateful to those I meet along my way, who, with their skill, encouragement and love give me the strength to travel on with hope – to celebrate RECOVERY.
One of the displays celebrates the Kirkwall Flower Arrangement club itself “60 years of fun and friendship through flowers.”
And who would have thought that 60 years ago we would have a display in the cathedral of Orkney celebrating Gay Pride – Orkney too has been on a journey.
Around the cathedral are small flower arrangements which have a great charm about them. Their simplicity hides the skill of the talented arranger. There are also some solo arrangements where often extra flowers left over were put together – these are incredible.
Entry is free and by donation, the money raised goes to the Cathedral Restoration Fund.
The KFAC acknowledged the assistance of Northlink Ferries and many folk who had helped in other ways to make this another great success for the Flower Club.
