Saturday, 7th of September, saw the display of vehicles old and new as part of the Orkney International Science Festival.
The event outside St Magnus Cathedral and in Castle Street, Kirkwall was a treat for locals and for visitors. Many of the tourists taking delight in the display were from the cruise ship Magellan.
In Castle Street were Orkney’s newest vehicles – the EVs.
Then there were the motorcycles – old and new. And a huge variety of cars all in excellent condition.A Model T which came off the factory floor in Ontario in 1915.

Not so many tractors as I have seen before but they still provoke a lot of discussion.
And for some the number plate was the attraction.Reporter: Fiona Grahame
