The Daily Scoop: Food Review

By Aife

It should come as no surprise that a reporter is attracted to ‘The Daily Scoop’. Anyone who has already visited, however, will know that the scoop refers to ice cream and not ground breaking news stories.

I simply had to have the ice cream sundae which costs £6.50 although there is a half size version you can get.

And yes it tasted as good as it looked. Absolutely spot on.

The Daily Scoop sells a wide range of ice cream deserts, waffles and pancakes. If you prefer something less sweet there are toasted sandwiches and the usual light savouries expected in any cafe.

Delicious cakes, scones and tray bakes were also available but honestly the sundae was what I went in for.

The premises are light and airy with seating which allows you to watch the passers by. Although the road works have started outside access is still possible and they will be over soon enough. (so long as no more castles are discovered).

I would highly recommend trying The Daily Scoop where the friendly staff make the visit even more pleasurable. It is open every day until 6pm Mon – Fri from 9.30am and on Sunday from 11am.
