Living Orkney has been shortlisted for a PPA Scottish Magazine of the Year Award.
PPA SCOTTISH MAGAZINE AWARDS 2019 SHORTLIST
In 2014 and 2016 Living Orkney won the Small Publishing Company Magazine of the Year Award. It is nominated in that category again this year.
Over the past 12 months Living Orkney has had four different editors – Lorraine Shearer, John Ross Scott, Sean Lewis and Cheryl Chapman and two designers in Carry Gunn and Leigh Kennedy.
John Ross Scott – who held the reins for six of those months – said:
“They say variety is the spice of life and being nominated this year is special in that it gives recognition of Living Orkney’s resilience and quality during such an intense period of transition.”
The magazine, is now edited by Cheryl Chapman and four employees who share their time with The Orcadian – Leigh Kennedy, who is now firmly in place as designer, Karin Brown and Julie Hellewell sharing the advertising role, and photographer Tom O’Brien.
The Scottish Magazine of the Year Awards 2019 will be held in The Hub, Edinburgh, on November 28th.
