Shopping Local

One of the best ways for an individual to support the local economy in Orkney is to shop local.

The wearing of face coverings/masks will be mandatory in all our shops starting on Friday 10th of July and there are already more people wearing them.

Orkney’s retailers have also been working very hard to make shopping safer for both workers and consumers.

Inside shops you will see arrangements all designed to keep people shopping safely – screens, signage on the floor and hand sanitiser.

Our local shops employ many people in the islands and are a vital part of our economy. Adhering to their shopping safety guidance and supporting them is more important than ever before.
