The 75th anniversary of VJ Day was commemorated in Kirkwall at the War Memorial on Saturday 15th of August.

The short service was held with adherence to the public health restrictions of Covid19.

After the lone piper there was a 2 minutes silence at 11am. The wreath was then laid.

Known as the Forgotten Army, the service personnel and POWs were remembered in Orkney and across Scotland.
