In The Windows At Northlight

From the 31st October to 13th of November, the Northlight Gallery, Stromness will be exhibiting pictures of Njuggles by Martin Laird.

Njuggles are are shape-shifting water spirits from the folklore of the Northern Isles (particularly Shetland), much like the Kelpies known elsewhere in Scotland.

The creatures in Martin’s pictures assume a variety of horse-like forms, and were inspired by the 2020 Year of Coasts and Waters.
