In The Windows at the Northlight Gallery in Stromness until the 13th of November is work by Orcadian artist Martin Laird.

Njuggles are shape-shifting water spirits from the folklore of the Northern Isles (particularly Shetland), much like the Kelpies known elsewhere in Scotland.
The creatures in Martin’s pictures assume a variety of horse-like forms, and were inspired by the 2020 Year of Coasts and Waters.
