Volunteers Transforming Arcadia Park

This is the ideal time to plant those bulbs that will bring a splash of colour and joy in Springtime.

The volunteers helping with the Arcadia Park project were out in force on Saturday doing just that.

Arcadia Park is located opposite the new Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall and the space is being transformed.

The area is becoming a delightful place to walk and sit.

The Orkney News has followed the project since work started on converting the space into a place where people can relax, or if you are a wee bit younger, to play.

Here’s an interesting before and after illustrating how the work has progressed

The land is owned by Orkney Islands Council but is being cared for by OACAS (Orkney Alcohol Counselling and Advisory Service). If you would like to find out more about the project please click on this link: Arcadia Community Park
