North Ronaldsay has been successful in its fundraising campaign to have festive lights in the island for the first time.
The crowdfund raised £475 (10th December) from 23 supporters.
A message from the organisers said:
There’s been some delay in getting the lights to North Ronaldsay – a frequent problem when one lives on such a windswept island! But I’m hoping the lighting event can go ahead later next week. The community is planning a (covid-appropriate) outdoor event with mince pies, mulled juice and a few carols! It will be a lovely opportunity to get together to spread some much needed festive cheer after the absence of so many community events this year.
Thanks again for your help in making this happen. Wishing you and yours a happy Christmas and bright New Year.
