On 20th of December 1812, Children’s and Household Tales, a collection of fairy tales by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm was first published.
They became known as Grimm’s Fairy Tales and originally consisted of 86 stories which over time was to increase to 210.
The collection has been influential in the preservation of oral stories, culture and for writers, musicians and artists even to this day with many of the themes being repeated from Disney animations to Scandi crime noir.
