A FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Orkney.
Coastal flooding is possible around Orkney on Thursday. This is due to a surge leading to high water levels, with the potential for additional risk from waves in locations exposed to the west. The greatest risk is around the time of high tide on Thursday morning, which occurs between 08:00 and 10:00 depending on location. Typical flooding impacts could include localised flooding of land and roads, disruption to travel, and isolated cases of flooding of individual properties.
