This delicate little flower, Star of Bethlehem, or Ornithogalum umbellatum, is great for bees and other pollinators.
It grows from a bulb and spreads to form a carpet of green foliage.
Star of Bethlehem is also known as: dove’s dung, eleven o’clock lady, Jack-go-to-bed-at-noon, nap at noon, sleepy Dick, summer snowflake and ten o’clock lady.
Sap from its leaves can cause skin irritation.

I love those names, especially eleven o’clock lady and summer snowflake.
