It will be a bright day, although thicker cloud and some early rain possible over Orkney. Wintry showers soon developing over Shetland, extending to Orkney later. Feeling cold with fresh north or northeasterly winds at times. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Clear spells and wintry showers, the showers heavy and possibly frequent at times with lying snow possible along with an ice risk. Fresh north or northeast winds. Minimum temperature -1 °C.
Wednesday 30th March:
Bright with wintry showers. The showers heavy with a risk of hail and the odd rumble of thunder. Feeling bitterly cold in the fresh to strong northeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Cold with bright or clear spells and wintry showers. Some lying snow possible, mainly at night with a widespread frost. Fresh northerly winds easing. Less cold by Saturday.
