Morning cloud and rain turning to bright spells and scattered heavy showers for Orkney towards midday, but rain persisting into the afternoon for Shetland. Fresh southerly winds becoming strong westerlies. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Clear spells and frequent blustery showers, feeling chilly in the strong westerly winds but these easing during the evening for Orkney and towards dawn for Shetland. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Thursday 26th May:

Further scattered showers and a few heavier ones during the afternoon, with some hail possible, strong westerly winds will continue to make it feel quite cold. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Showery on Friday but winds easing and becoming dry and bright on Saturday, perhaps cool northerly winds and further showers on Sunday.
