Mainly dry, bright morning then becoming cloudy in the afternoon. Rain will reach Orkney early in afternoon, extending to Shetland by early evening. Southeasterly winds becoming strong for a time. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Rain will clear Orkney in the evening and Shetland around midnight. Dry conditions and clear periods follow briefly but showers soon follow north. Windy at times. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Thursday 3rd November:

A cloudy start with scattered showers, some heavy, soon becoming brighter with showers becoming isolated. Strong southwesterly winds ease later. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Bright spells and a few showers Friday. Dry Saturday morning then rain extending across the Isles in the afternoon. Rain clears early Sunday, leaving a mostly dry and bright day.
