The Tree Lighting Weekend activities with Norwegian visitors is back for the first time since 2019.

The tree gifted by Vestland Norway will be outside the Cathedral while the Grimstad gifted tree will be inside the Cathedral.

There will be guests, including 2 musicians from Vestland & a council leader from Grimstad in South Norway.

A senior representative from the Norwegian Embassy in London will also attend along with his wife & young family.

The weekend kicks off with the Orkney Norway Friendship Association dinner plus music on the Friday evening of 2nd December in the Albert Hotel, Kirkwall. The event is open to the public again, this year.

 Tickets are available from the Orcadian Bookshop, Kirkwall & Wishart’s in Stromness, price £27.00.

Those requiring Tickets should get them as soon as possible & preferably by today Tuesday, as the hotel will soon require final numbers.

A number of Norwegians will again attend for the first time since 2019.
