Bright start across Orkney, but cloud and patchy rain over Shetland edging south into Orkney this morning. The cloud and rain edge away south through the afternoon with sunny spells and showers following as winds turn northerly. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Clear spells and showers through the evening, the showers tending to become more frequent through the early hours. Occasionally strong northerly winds. Minimum temperature 2 °C.
Tuesday 6th December:
Rather cloudy with showers and only brief brighter or sunnier spells. The showers tending to turn more wintry across Shetland through the afternoon and evening. Occasionally strong northerly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Cold with frequent wintry showers, snow to low levels at times, the showers may merge to give some longer spells of sleet and snow. Occasionally strong northerly or northwesterly winds.
