
Kirkwall Kayak Club will be paddling around Kirkwall harbour on Hogmanay afternoon lit up in festive lights to raise funds for the RNLI.
The “Flotilla of Light” will take place on Saturday the 31 December at 3pm. Paddlers from Kirkwall Kayak Club will paddle around the marina with their kayaks decorated in colourful fairy lights.
The fundraising event will be a unique spectacle to see at Kirkwall harbour and will be supported on the day by RNLI Kirkwall lifeboat crew and volunteers.
Paddlers will launch at Hatston slip and paddle around Kirkwall bay and marina, before finishing up in the basin where the lifeboat is moored. Completing the event at the RNLI station where they will be offered thanks for their support.
