A FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Orkney.
This alert is for coastal flooding. Due to a combination of large surge, spring tides and wave and spray overtopping, there is a risk of some coastal flooding to low-lying coastal areas on Wednesday and Thursday and there may be some disruption to travel. The risk is greatest around the times of high tides particularly on Wednesday morning which is around 09:30 GMT at Stromness and 10:30 GMT at Kirkwall. Please check tide times for local details.
