Is this one of the most successful Shopping Weeks Stromness has had in many a year? Certainly the weather gods have been kind bringing the visitors to the town and locals out in numbers.

Activities for families and younger people are, as ever, to be found in plenty.

The pavement artist event run by the Pier Arts Centre again attracted lots of participants with art work filling the paved courtyard and right round its corner.

And although the artists were long gone – perhaps they were not far away.

Moving further up the street there were less people but the show in the windows of ships in bottles at the Northlight Gallery in Graham Place is well worth peering into.

Well done to all the organisers who have really done a terrific job to make the 2023 Stromness Shopping Week such a success.

Some Stromnessians are taking a well earned rest already.
