Today 1st September:

Most places will have a dry and bright day with some sunshine at times, although there could be the odd light shower, most likely over Orkney. Light or moderate east to northeasterly winds, easing later across Shetland. Maximum temperature 15 °C.


A mainly dry evening with some sunshine then clear spells overnight, although patchy low cloud and mist will form over Orkney later. Light winds. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Saturday 2nd September:

Any mist over Orkney will clear during the morning, otherwise another bright day, although clouds will increase with perhaps some light rain for Shetland later as southwesterly winds freshen. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Some rain at times along with mist and low cloud and fresh southwesterly winds, although Shetland perhaps brighter for a time on Monday. Becoming drier on Tuesday as winds ease.
