Today 10th September:

Patchy rain developing over Orkney this morning although a bright start possible, Shetland dry and bright. The rain will turn heavier and more persistent through the afternoon and extend north into Shetland. Winds mainly light. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times. Some drier and clearer conditions developing over Orkney by dawn. Winds turning into the northwest, moderate at times. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Monday 11th September:

Showers or the odd longer spell of rain, occasionally heavy. A return to cooler conditions with moderate west or northwest winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Bright and cool on Tuesday and Wednesday with a scattering of showers at first. Northwest winds strengthening for a time. Dry at first on Thursday, showers possible later.
