Weather Forecast: Showers and some brighter spells

Today 5th November:

Rain or showers spreading west across Shetland in the morning and early afternoon. Turning mainly dry with clear spells here later in the afternoon. Occasional showers also affecting eastern Orkney, with drier brighter conditions across western Orkney. Light winds. Maximum temperature 10 °C.


Any remaining showers soon clearing western Shetland to give a dry night with clear spells. Often cloudier across Orkney with showers persisting across the northeast, perhaps spreading west overnight. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Monday 6th November:

Largely dry and mostly cloudy across Shetland. Rain or showers likely to continue across northeast Orkney, brighter and mostly dry across the rest of Orkney. Light winds. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Light winds and showers Tuesday. Strengthening winds on Wednesday with rain spreading northeast later. Rain may become persistent and heavy over Shetland Wednesday night and Thursday, showers over Orkney.
