A cold day across Shetland with outbreaks of rain accompanied by strong to gale force easterly winds. A few showers over Orkney but lighter winds and some brightness at times. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Largely cloudy with showery rain but also some haar in the evening for Orkney. Strong easterly winds easing across Shetland but picking up later in the night over Orkney. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Monday 20th November:

Cloud and outbreaks of rain soon clearing Shetland in the morning then Orkney in the afternoon. Becoming mainly dry with bright or sunny spells and lighter winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Dry and bright start Tuesday but rain later. Showers on Wednesday and Thursday and turning colder. Strengthening west or southwesterly winds with gales on Thursday.
